What Level?
What level of French can you speak? Take the test linked below to find out.
When signing up for French lessons it is useful to know what level of learning you already have, take the text linked to the left to find out your French language level and let me know your result when you are booking to ensure I place you in the correct class.

The official levels for language learning are known as the Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR) and they rank language ability from A0 to C2 on the following scale:

A0: Total beginner. - You can maybe greet and say thank you but little else.
A1.1: Beginner with prior knowledge. - You can introduce yourself, count basic numbers, greet people and say a few basic sentences describing yourself.
A1.2: Beginner with prior knowledge. - You can introduce yourself and have a basic conversation with everyday phrases.
A2.1: Lower intermediate. - You know some of the passe compose, imperfect and future tenses but are not fully confident.
A2.2: Middle intermediate - You are confident with tenses, and can have a simple conversation.
B1: Intermediate. - You are comfortable having every day conversations about your life, work and ambitions.
B2: Upper-intermediate. - You can speak about familiar complex topics such as those related to your job. You can converse easily with native speakers without strain on either party.
C1: Advanced. - You can understand and communicate in most situations on a range of topics spontaneously and flexibly.
C2: Proficiency. - You are completely confident communicating about any topic in any setting, with spontenaity and flexibility.
